I have a Hyundai Elantra rental car for a few days. As I was exiting the car this morning, the headlights stayed on, and I noticed some light shining through the wheel well. Sure enough, it’s a functional vent that light, and presumably air, can flow through.
Who knew that a humble rental spec Hyundai Elantra with an actual key (how quaint) could have such an advanced aerodynamic device?!

I shan’t believe it. Shan’t.

I saw those crappy old keys all the time at work, and I was like “lots of c.2004 Santa Fe’s, I guess.” Nope, just base model Hyundai’s from the 2010’s.
What’s next, smoking in rentals?

Cool. Looks like that probably deploys a curtain of air over the front wheels, reducing turbulence!
